Typical Locations:
  • Indoor Sporting Venues
  • Indoor Entertainment Venues
  • Convention Centres
  • Exhibition Centres

    Main Requirements:
  • Peak Capacity
  • Coverage where outdoor sites do not reach

    Typical Solutions:
  • Forced co-locations with all carriers and multiple technologies
  • Usually an upgrade of existing system
  • Sectorisation and sector capacity depends on the venue and people movement within the building

    Opportunities:
  • Video application will be popular in entertainment venues
  • Technology trade show oppportunities

    Typical Risks:
  • Acquisition
  • Installation cost for larger venues
  • Return on investment time

    Notes:
  • Usually not on the top of the priority list, because entertainment venues do not have a base traffic and are expensive to build.
  • Entertainment venues are covered first with macro sites if coverage targets are met
  • TDD / Wi-Fi opportunities in exhibition centres
  • Intelligent designs needed where several venues are together
